The Ghana Embassy in Japan in collaboration with an interim committee for the formation of the Ghana Association in Japan is set to inaugurate the nation-wide Ghanaian Residents Association in Japan, JafriQ Radio can exclusively confirm.

Tokyo, the capital of Japan, has been earmarked for the headquarters of the Association with members expected to converge at Matsubara Danchi on March 30, 2025 at 15:00 Japan Standard Time for the 3-hour program.

Dr. Peter A Owans, the keynote speaker for the event, will address Ghanaians at the gathering as citizens of the West African nation are expected to share high sense of national pride and patriotism as they take a route to maintain their culture identity as they reside in the East Asian country.

Hundreds of Ghanaians are among Japan’s 3.4 million foreigners population living in various prefectures in the Eastern Asia country – spreading Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama, Chiba, Sapporo, and Nagoya.

Osaka, which is one of Japan’s biggest and technologically advanced cities, already has a functioning Ghanaian Residents Association with a membership population of about 65. Osaka has an estimated Ghanaian population between 100 to 120 residents.
