The Ghana Embassy in Japan officially inaugurated the Ghanaian Residents Association in Japan at Ken Soka Shi Matsue, Saitama on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

H.E. Mrs. Genevieve Edna Apaloo, the Ghana Ambassador to Japan, spoke at the event as she encouraged citizens of the West African nation to remain united in Japan and create opportunities for themselves.

“The formation of the Ghana Association in Japan is a significant step towards strengthening the bonds of unity among Ghanaians in this country,” she said during her address of the Ghanaian community at the event.

“This is in line with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Diaspora Engagement,” she added.

Hundreds of Ghanaian residents living across Japan including those from Chiba, Osaka, Kanagawa, Tokyo, and elsewhere travelled to the venue for the event.

Dr. Peter A. Owans also addressed the gathering as the keynote speaker for the event.
