A young Nigerian soccer talent has died during a scouting training programme in the city of Ikenne in Ogun State during the weekend at Remo Stars pitch.

According to sources from Nigeria, the teenager was participating in a scouting programme which was targeted at recruiting youngsters to turn professional.

Per reports available to Jafriq Radio, the 18-year-old collapse on field and medics could not revive him as he was later confirmed dead at a hospital.

This is a latest case of soccer players collapsing and dying in Africa with stakeholders in the African sport calling for attention over the health situation of players on the continent.
