An Indian man in Taj Mahal returned home from a family wedding to find his house locked with his wife and four children missing on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

40-year-old Shakir reported the chase at a local police station, filing for a report of missing persons three days later after efforts to locate them proved futile.

Neighbours told him they saw his wife leave the house and children and a few valuables and before anyone could intervene she had disappeared with the children.

After days of unsuccessful search, a relative of Shakir came across a WhatsApp group video in which his wife was seen eloping with an unidentified man at Taj Mahal.

Local police suspect that Shakir’s wife and the man had developed a long standing relationship without his notice.

Shakir later recognised the man as someone from a place where he trades.
