The Chief Executive Officer of JafriQ Radio Japan, Samuel Nana Yaw Anning, set the tone and kept the audience engaged as Ghanaians in Japan marked the 2026 Independence Day anniversary.

The towering entrepreneur graced the stage at the Hotel Okura as high-ranking officials of the Ghanaian diplomatic corps, members of the academia community, government officials, business proprietor, and members of the Ghanaian community in Japan as well as friends of the West African nation have marked the country’s 69th Independence Day celebration in Tokyo.

Known by his monikers Pop-San, the boss for JafriQ Radio Japan and Bayside Agency played perhaps the most important role of the evening and as he capped the ceremony with a well-received message that traversed the occasion.

Characterised by a pulsating atmosphere, Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr. Kunimitsu Ayano, graced the event alongside H.E. Mr. Teimuraz Lezhava, Ambassador of Georgia to Japan and Mr. Hino, Chairman of Reiwa Academy, and a representative of Lotte Corporation.
