The Gambia promotes cultural dynamism and investment at Japan’s Expo 2025

West African nation, The Gambia, marked its national day at the Japan International Expo in Osaka with cultural displays and investment pitches aimed at strengthening ties with Japan.

Representing President Adama Barrow, Trade Minister Babucarr O. Joof was welcomed by Vice Commissioner General Ikeyama Shigetoshi.

Hon. Joof highlighted The Gambia’s Economic Transformation Agenda, outlining new industrial policies, plans for a Trans-Gambia Special Economic Zone, and efforts to boost competitiveness in the African markets.
He urged Japan to partner in developing the proposed Sene-Gambia Special Economic Zone, citing Japan’s track record in supporting African industrial hubs.
