All six passengers on board a small aircraft have lost their lives after the plane crashed into the gulf of Thailand sea in the southwestern part of the country on Friday.
All members on board were police officers who were travelling for the police service’s flight mission to prepare for a parachute jump training exercise.
“The Royal Thai Police would like to express their deepest condolences and sympathy,” the force said in its latest update. It added the six passengers include the pilot, also a police employee.
Rescuers rushed to the scene and attempted to salvage the situation however, they found four members of the force dead and despite all efforts by medics to rescue the other two, they were also confirmed dead.
After being rushed to the hospital, the pilot of the plane also died later.
The world has witnessed a string of aircraft crashes in 2025 with a crash in New York two weeks ago killing a Spanish family of five.
