Keisuke Goto climbed off the bench to score one of the consolation goals for Anderlecht in the Europa League on Thursday night
By Emmanuel Akyereko
Japanese teenager Keisuke Goto climbed off the bench to put his name on the score-sheet for Royal Anderlecht who surprisingly succumbed to a 4-3 home reverse against German side TSG Hoffenheim in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.
Goto, 19, made instant impact by striking on the 79th minute mark to reduce the deficit for the Belgians who were down by 4-2 at their own Lotto Park.
The former Jubilo Iwata striker was introduced in the 78th minute to take the place of Argentine international Luis Vasquez who had scored for the Royals.
He chanced upon a rebound effort and he gleefully smashed the ball home to register his debut goal in the 2024/25 Europa League competition for the 34-time Belgian champions.
