Ghana set to inaugurate new President John Mahama in few hours

John Dramani Mahama has made a sensational comeback as a President of the Republic of Ghana and is set to be sworn into office in a few hours.

Mahama, 66, defeated incumbent Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to the 2024 General Elections in the West African nation. Mahama, who was President of Ghana between 2012 and 2016, obtain 56.55 percent of the valid votes cast as against his closest rival Bawumia who polled 41.61 percent of the votes.

Several Presidents from the African continent and other parts of the world have already arrived in the country to attend the ceremony which is expected to kick off at 9:00 local time in Accra.

Mahama’s political party, the NDC, also won majority seats in Ghana’s Parliament.
