Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has announced the passing of his mother on New Year’s day.

The Super Eagles guardian took to social media to announce the death of his mother on January 1, 2025 and said: “Rip mom, worst year of my life already”.

It can be recalled that the Chippa United goalkeeper lost his father in November 2024 and barely two months after the passing of his father, his mother has also died.

Nwabali has been capped 15 times by Nigeria’s Super Eagles since earning his maiden call up in 2021 in an international friendly against Mexico in the United States of America.

His remarkable achievement during the 2024 AFCON semi-final game against South Africa where he won the MVP award after saving two penalties to help Nigeria reach the final of the tournament.
