According to a statement released by his management team, he was travelling to another venue to perform after successfully ending one in a different location.

Top Ghanaian highlife musician Amakye Dede together with his team were involved in a gory accident on the Winneba to Apam road on Sunday, December 29, 2024 around 1:45 AM.

The accident occurred when he was travelling from Takoradi to Agona Swedru for another show after performing at the Takoradi City Mall later that evening.

He and his team were travelling in a V8 vehicle.

The legendary musician and members of his team who sustained injuries were rushed to the Winneba Hospital for treatment.

Furthermore, the statement released stated that despite the accident, the Sika Ye Abrantie hitmaker still travelled to Kumasi later that morning to perform to his fans. However, he could not perform.
