WWE icon Hulk Hogan dies aged 71

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) legend Hulk Hogan has died in his home in Florida in the United States of America.

According to sources in the United States, the legend was confirmed dead in hospital after failing to recover from cardiac arrest.

Hulk, whose real name was Terry Bollea, was the biggest professional wrestler of the 1980s and 1990s and went on to achieve crossover fame including hollywood casting roles.

Tributes have been pouring in for Hogan from the wrestling world, the political sphere, and and hollywood.

US President Donald Trump is among those from the political elite who has conveyed his condolences to the family of Hogan.

In 2005, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame – an iconic post he held until he was removed to cast a racial slur but was reinstated in 2018.
