Flatty Skosana, a 45-year-old South African woman, is facing murder charges at the Siyabuswa Magistrate court for allegedly killing her mother and uncle.

Josias Masanabo, Flatty’s uncle, went missing in February 2025 with investigators mounting a search for him before later uncovering the unwelcoming news.

The uncle’s body was found to have been buried in the nearby bushes and it was exhumed and later confirmed to be Josias.

According to the accounts rendered by the Provincial police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, Nobanyazile Rosina Masanabo, 69, reported her brother – Josias, had gone missing and within the same month, she was found murdered in one of the backrooms in her yard.

“An investigation was carried out by the Siyabuswa detectives where several individuals were interviewed and it was during this probe that evidence emerged and led to the arrest of Flatty Skosana, the daughter of Nobanyazile Rosina Masanabo,” the Police spokesperson said.

The motives behind the two murders are yet to emerge as police in the country continue to carry out more investigations.
