The bodyguard of the Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo collapsed in parliament during the 2025 state of the nation address.

Col. Isaac Amponsah collapsed on the floor while standing behind the outgoing Ghanaian leader while he was delivering his final state of the nation address in the house of legislature on Friday, January 3, 2025.

2024 NPP Presidential running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, quickly rushed onto the scene to attempt to restore the personal security who has served Akufo-Addo for many years.

President Akufo-Addo, who was visibly concerned about the incident, paused his address to ensure Col. Amponsah received medical attention before continuing with the address later.
