A Ghanaian politician has died suddenly in the West African nation after complaining of chest pains, according to reports.

Ernest Kumi, the Member of Parliament for Akwatia in the Eastern region of Ghana, has been confirmed dead.

According to reports gathered by JafriQ Radio, the 41-year-old who recently completed his law school examination, was rushed to a hospital in Accra at midnight of Sunday after complaining of chest pains.

Insiders have confirmed that at around 10 AM local time he became unresponsive to treatment and sadly passed away.

He was a member of the New Patriotic Party who also lost their Member of Parliament for Ejisu in March 2024.
