A gas station in Japan has been hogging the headlines after a handwritten post displaying NO FUEL information to customers blamed US President Donald Trump for the fuel shortage.

Clover Daimon Self-Service Gas Station in the Northern city of Hakodate, Hokkaido, has gone viral since Friday morning in Japan after a random person posted a photo taken at their station on X.

The independent station faced temporary supply issues tied to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, particularly U.S. actions affecting oil routes like the Strait of Hormuz—through which Japan imports nearly all its crude.

According to Japan Daily, the photo, shared by X user @Dks21100 and has been reposted and published by a number of outlets.

Meanwhile, there has been no nationwide fuel crisis in Japan however localized shortages and price spikes have occurred.

Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has been in the United States of America at the invitation of Donald Trump to hold bilateral talks with the ongoing war taking a center stage at some point in the discussion.
