The Donald Trump administration has rejected policies limiting the arrest of migrants at sensitive places like churches and schools.
Immigration Law Enforcement Officers in the United States of America will now be able to arrest migrants during church services and at schools after the Donald Trump administration threw out the policy which placed a limitation on such activity.
On Tuesday the Trump administration announced that it has reversed the guidance that has for over a decade restricted two key federal immigration agencies — Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection — from carrying out immigration enforcement in sensitive locations.
A department of Homeland Security statement on Tuesday said: “This action empowers the brave men and women in CBP and ICE to enforce our immigration laws and catch criminal aliens — including murderers and rapists — who have illegally come into our country. Criminals will no longer be able to hide in America’s schools and churches to avoid arrest.”
The Trump administration has prioritised cracking down on immigration as he did in his first term. On Monday he signed an executive order which attempts to end birthright citizenship for some children of immigrants in the United States of America.
