A court in Nigeria has found a lady named Rhoda Adu, guilty of collecting transportation from her boyfriend and failing to visit him as she promised.

A Magistrate Court in Ilesa, Osun State in Nigeria has ruled that Ms Rhoda Adu should pay his boyfriend Olapitan Sola a sum of ¥15,000.

According to the court, Sola sent a lorry fare of around ¥299 to Rhoda to visit him which she accepted but switched off her phone immediately after receiving the money.

Sola, who was frustrated by the incident, reported the matter to the Ayeso Police Station which led to the arrest of Rhoda and eventually being arraigned before a court of law.

During the trial, Sola provided proof of the mobile money transaction history to the court which was accepted as a form of evidence.

In her ruling, the presiding magistrate Akogun Oludare found Rhoda guilty of breach of agreement and emotional manipulation.

She ordered Rhoda to refund the ¥299 she collected from Sola, pay an additional ¥10,000 for breach of the agreement and a further ¥4,700 for emotional damages caused to Sola.
