CHAN 2025: Algeria tames Uganda to go top of Group C, Morocco strolls past Angola

Algeria coasted to a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Uganda to assume the leadership of Group C at the 2025 CHAN tournament in Nelson Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, Uganda.

The North Africans took the lead through Ayoub Ghezala on the 36th minute before Abderrahmane Bentahar and Soufiane Bayazid scored in the second-half to hand all three points to the Foxes.

Guinea pipped Niger 1-0 in the group’s other game.

Meanwhile, at the Nyayo National Stadium Morocco posted a 2-0 win over Angola commence their journey in a victorious fashion.

Co-host Kenya squeezed a slender 1-0 victory over DR Congo at the Moi International Sports Centre with 25-year-old midfielder Austine Odhiambo scoring just before the interval.

Burkina Faso succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Tanzania at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Neither Madagascar nor Mauritania could break the deadlock in their clash at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in a Group B clash on Monday.
