Burkina Faso and Cameroon have both booked places at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with two rounds of qualifying to spare.

Burkina Faso became the first side to reach the finals in Morocco following a 2-0 away win against Burundi on Sunday.

The Stallions are guaranteed a top-two finish in Group L after taking 10 points from the first four rounds of matches.

Mohamed Konate put the West Africans ahead early on in neutral Abidjan and a stoppage-time penalty from former Aston Villa forward Bertrand Traore, who now plays for Ajax, sealed the three points.

Meanwhile, a 63rd-minute effort from Boris Enow gave Cameroon a 1-0 away victory against Kenya in Kampala.

The Indomitable Lions have 10 points in Group J and are guaranteed to finish above third-placed Kenya on head-to-head record.

Burundi and Kenya had to stage their games in Ivory Coast and Uganda respectively because they do not have stadiums fit to host international football.

Algeria, Angola, DR Congo, Egypt and Ivory Coast could also secure their places at the finals by the time the fourth round of qualifiers culminates on Tuesday.

The 2025 Nations Cup is scheduled to begin on 21 December next year, with the final on 18 January 2026.
