Black Stars attacker Antoine Semenyo opened his 2025/26 Premier League goal account by scoring a brace for Bournemouth in their 4-2 away loss to Liverpool at Anfield in Merseyside on Friday night.
The 25-year-old London-born scored on the 64th and 76th minutes to draw the scoring to 2-2 and hand hopes of grabbing a point for Bournemouth but Liverpool scored two late goals through Federico Chiesa and Mohammed Salah to grab the maximum points.
Semenyo arrived in the box at the right to receive a ball from David Brooks and dinked the ball over Alisson to halve the deficit for the visitors.
In the 76th minute the Ghana international beat the Liverpool defence to pace as he grabbed his opportunity, forensically fizzing a low shot into the bottom corner to become the first player of the brand new season to register a brace in a game.
However, Liverpool rallied late to grab the points.
