Italian giants Inter Milan frustrated Barcelona to a 3-3 drawn game in the first-leg of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League semi-final clash on Wednesday night.
Denzel Dumfries became the first Dutch player to be involved in 3+ goals in a Champions League semi-final (2 goals, 1 assist) and was involved in all three of Inter’s goals.
The Dutchman was voted the MVP for the match as he impressed on the night in which Barcelona had to fight back twice to draw the tie.
Marcus Thuram raced the Serie A giants to a 1st minute lead before Dumfries doubled the lead for the Nerrazurris inside 21 minutes. 17-year-old necromancer Lamine Yamal halved the deficit for the Catalan club three minutes after Dumfries’ goal.
Ferran Torres then levelled the scoring with a silky finish 7 minutes before the interval to end the first-half in a 2-2 draw.
Inter restored their lead after the break after Dumfries restored their lead however, Raphinha struck a supreme finish which came off the back of Yann Sommer in the Inter goal.
